Surrey Brass is excited to say that our 2018 Concert Programme is well underway, and we are delighted to have confirmed dates for 2019 already in the diary.
We've already started rehearsing for what is turning out to be a packed 2018, with a wide range of exciting concerts. 2018 marks the centenary of the end of WW1 and musical commemorations of this momentous event are being planned, one of them in partnership with the band of the Royal Logistics Corps, featuring the return of an internationally famous trumpet soloist we have worked with before. Before that, in June a joint concert with a local choir will also cover the WW1 theme. If you think big is better, Surrey Brass is are also intending to present at least one joint concert with another brass ensemble, Prime Brass of Cambridge, enabling us to perform some of the larger and more impressive music written for brass - something to watch out for. Our charitable fundraising work continues, and we are delighted that the Surrey Brass Quintet has been invited back to raise funds for the cancer charity Tenovus, in a Charity Variety Show in Epsom Sunday on 16th September 2018 in the prestigious Epsom Playhouse. As has become our custom, we round off the year with as our usual Christmas events at the Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington, and also in Guildford.
Spring 2019 seems a long way away but a brass quintet concert in Carshalton Methodist Church is confirmed, with another concert in St.Nicholas Church, Leatherhead being proposed also.
This year we will continue to renew old partnerships and make new ones. If you are interested in performing with Surrey Brass, please get in touch.
Please don't forget to check our Forthcoming Events from Surrey Brass page for details of our up-and-coming performances. Tickets, and Sheet Music of some of the arrangements we play can be bought from the Surrey Brass Shop.
