This concert features, among others, the music of Ted Heath, 'Memories of You' and 'Stardust' - trumpet duets performed by Jonathan Spencer and Huw Evans. We recall music from the Golden Era of the British Big Band, when Ted Heath led the most successful band in Britain during the 1950s, recording over 100 albums and selling over 20 million copies. His music was heard daily on the radio for decades afterwards. Other music features soloists from other sections in Surrey Brass. The musical programme will include music to entertain and inspire memories for you.
This concert is part of series of events that celebrate Rayleigh Salvation Army's 100th year - come and do it in style!
Surrey Brass members are some of the best semi-professional players in the county. Unlike any brass band, we play orchestral brass instruments, supplemented by a percussion section, giving a huge range of musical opportunity. Throughout our 20 years of performance we have upheld our tradition of being "the innovative and entertaining brass ensemble" and have consistently performed highly varied programmes of music, carefully scheduled to deliver a thrilling audience experience.
Directed by Jonathan Spencer.
