Quintet at the Landmark - A Summer Sunday Afternoon Concert

2:00pm (provisional start time), Sunday 13th June 2021

The first post-lockdown concert by Surrey Brass

Surrey Brass are scheduled to play a Sunday Afternoon quintet concert to celebrate the return of concert giving after the longest silence in live performance in human history. We hope you can join us.

We shall do our best to provide a really enjoyable Sunday afternoon's music for our audience, reminding everyone that Surrey Brass has survived and are bouncing back. We aim to raise funds for our old friends the Landmark Arts Centre, who continue struggling to survive and need your help to get going again. All profits will go to the Save The Landmark Appeal.

Although Surrey Brass often prefers to perform in our 10-piece format, the Brass Quintet permits performance of  highly varied repertoire whilst keeping everyone safe on stage.

Never fear, we are optimistic that the full 10-piece Surrey Brass will be in full force at the Landmark in December together with Choirs and Storyteller for our legendary Carols By Candlelight concerts.

Support the Landmark Arts Centre

The Landmark is an unsubsidised charity and this unprecedented situation will have a significant financial impact. Your support is needed now more than ever. Between April and June 2021, as things stand we will make an operating loss of around £35,000 due to the ongoing restrictions and our concern now is getting through those three months.

The need to fundraise to save the centre from the threat of permanent closure continues. If you are able to donate £5 please text LACL01 to 70970If you are able to, you can give more …

A brief history

Our magnificent building was constructed in the 1880s as the church of St Alban The Martyr. Originally designed for a congregation of 1200, by the 1970s it was declared redundant and was neglected for many years.

A passionate campaign led by local people eventually succeeded in saving it from demolition and in 1995 it became the home of a new community art centre – the Landmark Arts Centre.
